Strawberries

Haygrove was built on 1 hectare of strawberries, planted by its owner Angus Davison in 1988 as part of a university project on strawberry production.

Since then, Haygrove's strawberry production sites have grown in size, with a total 53hectares growing strawberries in South Africa and the UK.Elsanta and Driscolls Amesti are the two main varieties grown organically in the UK with premium Jubilee the predominant conventional variety. Strawberries grown in the UK and South Africa supply the leading domestic supermarkets including Waitrose and M&S.

In 2006 we won the Soil Association Bronze Award for Organic Farm of the Year for the UK, and Silver for Best Product which was for our strawberries.
